My reaction to this story about man who died while playing computer games is that he probably died happy. Many people dream of dying while doing what they love doing. If the story is reliable, he left his job to play games, he set himself up at the Internet cafe to play games - he loved gaming. It is easy to start talking about the evils of computer gaming (it would also be facile of me to suggest that most such critics have never been hard core gamers). Playing computer games is a fascinating, absorbing, thoroughly enjoyable and even peaceful adventure. Of course I know nothing about his personal life, but if he was dedicated enough to play for 50 hours continuously, he probably died having acquired status, power, admiration and riches, in his game world.
