Skype punching above their weight

Skype are doing some exciting things, especially for a small UK company with little formal structure. Mobiles pre-loaded with Skype, and a partnership with Motorola, are some of the latest happenings. Normally, I would imagine Skype is ripe to be acquired, but what happens if these partners object to the acquiree. You'd think Yahoo, for example, would be a good buyer, but already the mobile operators have expressed their preference for non-Yahoo internet access. Of course, operators probably don't like Skype much either. The handset manufacturers seem to ... but their main customers are mobile operators. And if your customer begins to compete bitterly with a partner, you need to drop the partner.
